Is an Unequal Equitable Distribution Equitable?

In Florida, under the common law, title dictated the distribution of assets incident to a divorce. Wives were at risk in a divorce and were dependent on alimony and child support as courts were not permitted to alter title to achieve equity. Trial courts were not permitted to equitably distribute property except to the title owner thereof.
